Daughter of Earth is a chronicle of the life of Marie Rogers, a woman who, like the people for whom she worked and sacrificed her life, was “of the earth” and whose “struggle is the struggle of the earth.” Spanning the first thirty or so years of her life, the account is an attempt to resolve personal and political issues.
